Good/Bad Web Design Examples

http://designarchives.aiga.org/#/home
The above is a link to the AIGA Design Archives home page. This is an example of good web design for obvious reasons. It is graphically appealing and simple to navigate. Given the expansive collection of design work available through the website, it is easy to find what you are looking for. My favorite function of the website is the "browse" function, which allows you to sort randomly through the archives according to color, year, discipline, industry, format, or location. Another well designed aspect of the website is that once you narrow your search, all of the images are displayed as thumbnails, and the user must simply scroll from left to right to find what they are looking for.

The above is a link to a website called "Space is the Place", an unequivocal example of bad web design. The website has no aesthetic merits, and is difficult to navigate. The color choices make it difficult to read the text and the graphics are dated and ineffective. Also, the amount of text and links provided by the website's creator make it very difficult for the user to find what they are looking for.
